New Magnetic Jack Pad

People went nuts on me for spending $299 on a pair of jackpoint jack stands. This is exactly why I spent the money. Don't know how they can make that thing out of plastic. Most important thing is you did not get hurt. The car can be fixed. Just a beat situation. Will be interesting to see if the company offers any assistance due to the failure of their product.

I tried those as well, and one split on me too. Luckily it didn't do any damage.
Since then I added the jack rails from MRT - can put the jack in the middle under the door and lift the side to change front and rear tires at the track.

I was very lucky I wasn't under the car placing jackstands. The car was almost jacked all the way, I would have been placing the stands 60 seconds from the time this happened.
Good to know others have failed too Jim. I guess that really is why they switched to aluminum.

Holy sh***
No response from the maker I see...
This coulda been bad. Just glad you are okay.
I don't know about you guys, but as soon as I get the car jacked up, I put a tire or concrete block under the car, so in case it falls, it lands on the object and not me. You can never be too cautious with a lifted vehicle. Godspeed friends.

I'm always careful when working under a car, I always use jack stands, and always leave the jack in place as another safety. I've never, ever had an issue before. Now that I have, I'll be taking extra measures for sure.
As far as ZL1, still no response to my emails either. I found a video where they actually talked about this problem and admitted to discontinuing the design because of their tendency to crack. I'm going through my insurance company, but they requested all information on ZL1. I have a feeling ZL1 will be hearing from them very soon.

These won't split!! I got these with the stands but you could use these by themselves. Much more secure on the jack than the jack pads.
