Default My new 2007 Gt

Hey guys, new to the forums, some very good stuff on here. Here's my new stang, I bought it about 3 weeks ago and am loving it. This is my 2nd GT, I had an 05 but sold it and was kicking myself afterwards. Car is an 07 convertible, alloy metallic, auto with 37000 miles on it. Completely stock except Magnaflow exhaust, K&N air filter and shorty antenna.

I was thinking of installing CIA with a tune, I don't plan on racing the car or anything but was wondering is there a big difference in performance with just normal driving with an automatic? I like to get on it every now and then but that's about it. Also is there any problems passing emissions with a tune? Was thinking about installing the dark tail lights from American muscle, I think those would look good with this color.

I love the mustang esp the 05-09, its my favorite body style. Previous owner already switched tranny fluid to amsoil and mobile 1 oil besides that I just replaced battery, cabin air filter. What all do you recommend doing such as any other mods or maintenance? Thanks fellas.

Nice car, congrats.

Yes, a CAI and tune will bring out the best in the car and there will be noticeable improvements in all areas. It's the most worthwhile modification. I believe even more-so for an Automatic Transmission.

I'm unsure as to what will be expected for emissions/inspection in your particular state, as it varies. However, if you do run into a problem and it fails, keep the stock airbox, replace it for inspection and put the CAI back on afterward.

Maybe get some new rims as well. I like 18's on these cars.

Since you have a black car, everything that isn't black would look mint as black (tinted lights all around), however, you may run into problems with the local police as mostly any modification to any light is technically illegal. That blacked out look is nearly unmatched though in the car world.

You have just a tad fewer miles than I do on my '07. Congrats and welcome!

I'd change the fuel filter but other than that, your mileage is low enough to not worry about anything else.

Even though I tend to baby my GT when I do take her; the garage queen; out, I never regret the CAI & tune. Even under modest driving, a tune will still provide enhancements especially on an auto.

Nice car. Even before you go with the CAI, put in the one-touch top and rear window modules from American Muscle. They are the two best things I did to my convertible. I don't see why Ford didn't include them in the first place.
