hello everybody,

I know that this question sounds really idiot but I don't have any experience in parts sold in US and I need your help

I need to buy a new timing cam sprocket for the 4.6 3v 05 and I was checking what is on the market.

there are original Ford, Standard Motor Products and Dorman.

I suppose that the best choice is Original Ford, easy but the cost is almost twice than the others (109 for the Dorman, 135 for SMP and over 220 for Ford.

do you have any tip and suggestion for those brands?

For what I understood, Dorman is commercial brand, manufactured in China but this doesn't mean that it's not a quite good quality. Maybe they are good for simple mechanic parts but maybe the cam phaser is a delicate part and is not worth it...

I am willing to bet most Ford parts are made in China these days also. I know Dorman and Standard will be as well.

DId you try Rockauto.com? They have a wide selection of OEM and AM parts for really good prices.
