2014 Mustang Convertible ordered 5/14/13
Hello Everyone!
This is my 1st post here to the forum, although I have been reading and lurking here for a few months.
I placed a special order for a 2014 Mustang V6 Premium Convertible at my local Ford Dealer and it says the DORA was processed on 5/14/13. My company offers X-Plan discount, and with the $2,500 in rebates available, I just couldn't resist the substantial savings from MSRP. Now, have to just be patient for 8-10 weeks.
Here is what I ordered:
2014 Mustang V6 CONV PREM
Mustang Club of America Pkg
Sterling Grey
Saddle Leather
Automatic
Comfort Pkg
Rear Video Camera
My last Mustang I owned was a 1998 GT Convertible with a Saleen Kit. Its been 10yrs since I drove a Mustang and really enjoyed the 2013/2014 Convertible and how much improved it has become over the years. The 5.0L was my first choice, but after driving the 3.7L V6, I felt like it was just as strong as my 98GT 4.6L was. Plus, the higher fuel economy on 87 Octane was a deal sealer. Not to mention, a comparable GT CONV was $7,000 more.

I ordered my 2014 on Feb 5th and it was built on the 28th. I had mine sent to Roush after it was assembled and I got it the first week in April. I don't think it'll take 8-10 weeks to get yours. Just thought I'd help ease your pain (of waiting).

Thanks everyone! I am excited to get back into the Mustang world again after 10 years. I think the transit time is a factor since I live out west. Let's hope its quicker than the 8-10 week quote, but I will try to be patient.
I will look around here on the forum for this info, but I want to install a style bar (hoop) on the Mustang once I get it. My 98 GT convertible had one and it really looked great. So far, seems like American Muscle has the best price for the style bar and it gets pretty good reviews. Not sure if there is really much difference in these style bars, but the price does vary quite a bit.
The only other mod I am considering is a Cold Air Intake. I have used them on other cars/SUVs in the past and they do work well to increase throttle response.

Make sure you get a tune. The new motors do not like it if you just bolt-on a CAI. They run too lean, but with a CAI and tune you will notice a HUGE power increase.

I just saw that FORD increased the Retail Cash from $1,500 to $2,000. And I have my $1,000 Lease Conquest incentive = $3,000 off XPlan price! My deal just got $500 sweeter. Now, my convertible style bar will be free! Just have to make sure to "lock in" the incentives by 7/8/13.
