Boss 302 Intake worth the $ ? 2013 5.0
#11
There is a thread on this exact topic in the technical section. The cobra jet breaks down to basically a race application and/or a mod to be used with primarily highly modified vehicles. So to answer the question yes for certain purposes. Not as a bolt on for a DD

Ok lets look at it this way for the cost of the intake, long tubes and gears all you get is moderate increase in power for what $2k or so. Where as a Roushcharger on a 5.0 with DRs and your running 10's! Sure its a lot more money but the results are insane! IE....save your money for blower and be done with it.
Yes....Yes...correct answer!

No the Cobra Intake or "Black Lung" is just more of the Boss so you'd have to do even more work to use that intake. Yes I miss the low end torc but will get intoxicated from 60 up as you can actually feel the air shoot directly into the motor as it comes to life. I'm also keenly aware of the dangers of approaching the 7500 needed to max the intake.
The Boss engine is built internally and has better timing chain tensioners, stronger valve springs and a main phaser to keep it all in sync. I will try to keep it around 6500 at 1-4.
You'll also need the adaptor kit for around $110.
I'm thinking with a L/T Catted-X, 93 tune, Boss intake maybe a 84.5 FRPP T/B might work, but stock is good now.
