found a turbocharger kit for $700 ????
Hey;
Can this be real? Its on ebay and the guy has 99.1% positive feedback, he sells custom kits like this to most cars. Its called "Custom Race T3T4 T3 T4 TurboCharger Turbo Boost Kit."
Should i go for it or not? It says it adds about 50 to 100 HP with 6 to 8 PSI . Says it can go up to 25+ PSI if you got the engine to handle it. It looks like it includes everything for installation and all the cages. I am sure my shop is gonna charge me up the *** to install it and have it tuned , but no where near 5 or 6 K for a supercharger
What do you guys think?
thx

are you talking this one?
http://www.ebay.com/itm/CUSTOM-RACE-...-/251117158090
checkout the fitment list, he literally has it listed as everything.
you will require major custom work to get pipes that fit properly.
just buy a proper on3/S&H/other brand name kit and throw it on.
thatll be my plan next year hopefully

Everything you posted is missing some major components. No fuel injectors for example - the stock injectors aren't up to the task when you boost. I don't see the hot side piping so you will need that. All of the piping will need to be fabricated -so you have some cutting and welding and even what piping is included may not be what you need.
There is a reason a kit made for your car is more expensive than those. They have everything you need right in the box already to go. Most even come with a base tune, or at least a tune to get you to the dyno.
Also, I noticed this in the write up:
Not exactly it isn't the heat that power the turbo, it is the exhaust (which yes, is hot and causes heat). But that is not a technically correct statement from the seller - because you don't want just heat because that will just cook the turbo and heat up your intake air.

Heat powers the turbochargers turbine inlet. Keep the heat inside the exhaust pipes

I would certainly never buy something like this. I bought a used supercharger on S197 and I got screwed royally. I would only buy new from now on and when it comes to major components go with the top guys. You may think that you are saving initially but it will cost you down the line.
