Default Help me decide. 2008 GT Manual or 2012 GT auto

Buying a motor swap for my car by buying a wrecked vehicle. I have to decide between a 2008 GT manual or a 2012 GT automatic. Some people say stick with the manual and others are saying the new 5.0 is worth getting in auto. Plus the possibility of swap later on. I can't decide so give me your opinions.

Both of my GTs have been a stick...I do most of my driving in town, and the manual does not lend itself to fooling around with anything in the car. A quick drink of coffee or change the radio station. Forget a cell phone... I like to hear the engine and so the radio is usually down low. I drive my wife's SUV from time to time and its just sitting there holding the wheel...not much to do. I also like how many people who would otherwise ask me to let them drive my sweetie, are put off by the stick...

As EVERYONE knows well, manuals are WAYYYYYYYY more fun to drive but there's a lot to be said about the 5.0. You can SC the 4.6L and have more power than a lightly modded 5.0 but... something about that 5.0 is hard to resist. If it were me, I'd lean towards the 4.6 with plans on SCing. Part of that is because I'm not a fan of the styling change beginning in '10.

Well I'm not changing bodies just getting the motor. See I'm tempted with the 5.0 but at the same time I hate automatics. First thing I plan on doing to either motor is cams and heads but if I get the 4.6 I will have a little more money to play with than if I get the 5.0. The 4.6 will be $5700 and the 5.0 will be $7000 but the 4.6 has better body and more miles.

Go with the 4.6 and use the difference in cash to SC it. The install I would think would be more strait forward and less of a headache. Go manual!

4.6 and buy a Vortech, keep the V6 appearance and try to stick with one muffler that's as quiet as possible! And then go to RMR and beat up an all these annoying WRX's and EVO's around here that think their cars are instantly considered fast due to AWD/turbo.

I'm sticking with the V6 appearance till I can buy an cervinis body kit but the exhaust I'm going duals and loud maybe do quiet duals with cut outs to be loud at the track.

So it's almost looking like most people say 4.6. I plan on eventually getting a KB supercharger unless someone tells me whipple is better.

Sell car and buy a gt500 for like ~30k or 2011 5.0 with like 40k miles for 23k (finance if necessary and build some credit while interest rates are low)

You can still work on the car but this would save you so much work, time, blood, sweat, tears, effort, headaches, frustration and probably money in the long run.

I looked at doing that but I can't afford $400+ monthly payment.
