13-14's are rated 420 because the elimination of oil squirters on the crank shaft and a slight retune.

My 2011 puts down 389 at the wheels..stock. That's more than 420 crank if you figure 15% power train loss. Not only are these underrated, there also seems to be a lot of variability between these cars.

Yup they are a **** ton of fun and if you drop some Hellion Twin turbos on your looking at 600-1200 horses though 1200 you need to beef up the engine a bit or ****s going to explode.

that 15% rule is so out of date its not even funny.. Majority of new age RWD vehicles are using Hypoid-type gearsets now which have had extensive testing done the average drive line loss on RWD vehicles is between 6-10% give or take with today's components.

Do I believe manufacturers underrate their vehicles absolutely especially in the sports car department but you look at most that get underrated it's usually in the 10-15hp range with the odd 20hp not almost 50hp.

By that 15% rule if stock 2011's dyno at 389 then the 2011 GT should have
been rated at 458hp instead of 412hp... I don't buy it!

I would assume one of 2 things either the guy who did your dyno was idiot and didn't have it setup properly or you are not losing anywhere near 15% as so many use as the rule of thumb.. My money is on the ladder.

That twinturbo kit Hellion offers looks absolutely disgusting and I want!!

base install at 5psi will put the 11-14 GT's over 600rwhp and the kit itself
is built and ready to push 25+psi but most definitely would require a rebuilt engine to handle that kind of juice

I never said I lost 15%...I said I get 389. Everyone uses the 15% loss comment..so I threw it in there. I know it can't be that high..it would be nice, but I know I'm not making 450 crank

Point is, a stock 2011 is making at or around 420...There is nothing special about the new cars..it's just marketing. The other alternative is my car is a freak.

Freak, FTW.

Ford has been known to underrate their cars, especially Mustangs. Just look at the Mustangs of the late 60's to early 70's. Back then they did it for insurance reasons. I think its cool that they have kept that tradition alive, whatever the reason may be.

Insurance...I thought the same thing about my back seat. Nothing bigger than my backpack can fit there.

I fit a 9y/o and a 6 y/o back there. They don't like it much, but too bad ....daddy needs his toy

I'm thinking a was blessed with a factory freak. Last time I went to a dyno day, I beat every 2011-13 that was stock or just had CAI+tune...even a 13 that had a CAI and Bama tune with the same setup as me (3.73s w/ manual and brembo).

I would love to see what kind of power mine makes...My '11 is still stock but it makes my old '07 GT with CAI and a 91 tune seem tame...
