I'd think a 99-04 GT would be similar price of a 05+ v6. Maybe consider that option.

I love my former v6, I was one of those that did the swap and now it even has a DOB blower on it as well, I have some fuel issues to work out with it first, but once done I will be around the 450-460 hp range. However if you aren't mechanically inclined it's not really worth it, plus with the S550 coming out soon, those V6's or hard to say those turbo 4's will be putting down around 320hp so with a blower on the v6 you will be just a little faster then them. It might be a better option to do the basics, tune/cai, gears, some exhaust mods and better tires and enjoy it. I had many people tell me to trade for a gt however now I have somewhat of a sleeper and a one of a kind as no one has done a v6-v8 swap and added the DOB blower.

Also, the v6 rods come from the factory forged so they can handle a little more boost than what would be consider normal.

And the truth comes out. Nothing wrong with that either. If you've got the coin to do the SC install, then heck, I say do it. If it gets you more power and it keeps the wife happy, then don't mess with domestic bliss.
