Default Replacing bulb in 2013 tail lights

Does it really have to be done at a dealership? I can't find instructions anywhere. The 2013 owners manual just says to see a dealer.

you have a light out on a 13' already?

Not sure they are replaceable to be honest but easy to find out just pop off the clip on the center black piece to gain access to the I beleive it's 3 10mm nuts and pull the tail lamp out to see if you can access each individual bulb..

If they did what most LED tail light manufacturers did it's basically an entire assembly instead of individual bulbs so when one LED goes out you gotta buy an entire assembly and from what I have seen they cost like $900+ for just one side

If you do have a bulb out already on a 13' that most definitely would be covered under warranty.

I bought these tails off Ebay, put them on my '11. They had been on a 2013 that was wrecked. The seller didn't say there was any lights out, I've got to contact them and see what they say.

There is definitely no (obvious) access to the bulbs on the back of the assembly like there is on every other light (including the 2011) I've ever seen. But, Tously sells the LED bulbs individually so there MUST be a way.

i looked at the tously site and that diagram they show for 2013 is a diagram for 2010-2012

I would almost put money on '13 tail lights are full assembly only so I would definitely get a hold of the seller you bought them off.

Yikes, those LEDs are soldered into a circuit board most likely. And I would bet that the tail light unit is hermetically sealed, then you will have to remove the LED and solder in a new one.

I can tell you from personal experience that removing LEDs (especially the smaller ones) is a PITA like none other, and you run serious risk of damaging the board and its other components.

It could be just a bad connection somewhere on the board, or maybe the LED has messed up contacts, but I would see if you can get a refund or replacement before you tear it open.

There is no way without destroying the housing unit. Trust me. I looked and looked when I bought the Euro version on the '13s. How many bulbs are out?

I really don't think it's serviceable, but rather an entire sealed assembly. it's all LED, which means they're expected to last the life of the car. not like the 10-12, which is a mix of LED and incandescent.

I would get my money back from the ebay seller.

Well crap, I was afraid of that when I saw the back of the assembly.

I noticed, too, that Tousley's diagram was of a 2010-12 light.

There is one light out, it's the small outer light on the passenger side.

I emailed the Ebay seller last night, he's going to refund half the sale price and I'm keeping what I've got, apparently he doesn't want to mess with it. I'll still end up doing OK on the deal I think.
