Default A few Steeda questions about an 06' Stang.

I had a few questions about a few of their products.

1. Is their pulley set easy to install, can I just install it and it is done, or does it require tuning of some sort.

2. Is the cold air intake easy to install, I would imagine it is, I just haven't had experience with them before.

3. Then Steeda makes these programmer things, I don't need to use those to make these parts work properly do I? I should just be able to put them on and go right?

4. last question, kinda dumb, but with an air intake system, the filter exposed is that the air filter? or something else?

Thanks

My cold air intake was a breeze to install, it took about 15-20 minutes, just follow the instructions and its a snap. The cone looking thing on there is the air filter

Orite cool!

But has anyone had experience with the pulleys?

Also, with the CAI, pulley, and exhaust upgrades, would a programmer be a good investment?

Now I don't know exactly how the pulleys go on your model, but you have to raise the tension rod to romove the belt, then after that its just take off the bolts holding on the pulleys you want to replace and bolting on the new ones. You will need a size reduced belt for a new pulley system. A programmer would be a great investment because it allows you to take care of any error codes that may appear as well as give you more hp. If you plan to do extensive mods to your car besides just the bolt ons like new gears, larger rims, super or turbo charger, or a new ignition system you will need the tuner. I still recommend it anyway. Alone the tuner will give you a 10-15+ boost in hp.

Well so it sounds like the CAI is a sinch, but the pulleys may be complicated, no worries though I know someone that would be able to help me with those.

So ya programmer would be cool, and I would imagine that is it pretty self explanatory, and if I messed it up, there is a reset feature I would believe.

Yes there is a reset switch. When you plug in the diablo tuner for the first time it automattically uploads your stock ecu settings incase something were to happen. So if you screw up, or think you did you can always reload your stock settings and start over again. Not sure how the Xcal works, but pretty sure it has a simmilar option. Yes these handheld tuners are very self explanitory and easy to use, its only on the complicated stuff like setting cooling temperatures and fuel injector settings I would let a pro deal with.
