Previous life I worked at Pep Boys and the busiest time for car batteries is actually the summer. Most people think it's the winter. I guess in CO if you're standing outside in a snow storm freezing your various body parts off in sub zero temps, you tend to recall that more readily than that time when it was 75 and your car wouldn't start due to a dead battery.

The battery in my fiancée's 07 GT is only about 2 1/2 years old and it has went dead twice in that time and yesterday wouldn't start when her son tried to start it but started for me when I got home from work. It's a Duralast gold from autozone.

I tested it with my battery tester and it said to replace the battery. I drove it to Autozone and had them test it with their tester and it showed the battery was good so I'm not sure what the deal is. What causes the batteries to die on these years of Mustangs?

I don't know that it's only Mustangs that have a short battery life. It's just the way it is these days. Remember when a 60 month free replacement warranty was not difficult to find? I don't know of any such free replacement periods any more. These days 36 months seems typical, with a few batteries having a 48 month warranty.
