Default how will flow masters 40s mufflers sound on my 2012 gt?

Got a 2012 GT recently, I like it but the stock exhaust sounds pretty quiet to me. I used to have a 2008 GT and the stock exhaust sounded deep, and nice, This one is very quiet, unless i really get on it then it screams a bit.

I like keeping cars as stock as possible apart for a few minor mods - if I swap out the stock mufflers for some flowmasters 40s, will I get the sound I want ( i loved the sound of my 08 gt) ... i checked out a few axle back sound clips on americanmuscle.com, and they sound pretty raspy and buzzy (if that makes sense :S ) to me.... I want to go for the deep/powerful sound like my last mustang, not just "loud". Would the flowmasters 40s get me there? otherwise what do you recommend?

Have you checked the new BBK varitone exhaust on American muscle, yet? These are new and there's a valve on the muffler that opens and closes the chambers making the exhaust quiet or loud whenever you want. There's a video on their site. If these were out when I bought my pype bombs I would've purchased those instead.

SLP is not bad either, Stainless Works sounds freaking amazing but they are up there in price with Borla.

I have the Roush axle backs. Love them. No drone, nice deep low rumble. Quiet cruising but a monster when you open it up. This is kind of a hard question to answer. Basically it turns into a "what exhaust do you like" thread. There is nothing necessarily wrong with that but it may not help you. The best advice is to watch you tube video after you tube video after you tube video and make your decision from there.

Go with the GIBSON axle backs. You can get a set of aluminized with stainless tips for around $290 with free ship. Check www.ajusa.com

Borla Hands down, Have had my Ataks for over 6 months and Wouldn't trade them for any other set out. I think the 40 Sets sound canny.
