Default Getting a weird noise from my trans area

Hey guys,

It got cold here a week ago, and since then I've noticed my 06 gt transmission makes a hollow whirring noise first driving when cold and shifting into 1st, 2nd, and lighter at 3rd.
Once the car warms up, the noise dies down and I can barely hear it. It was transported from CA to TX about 2 months ago by an auto shipper and has had new tires and a tie rod end link replaced a week ago. Just bad timing or did someone at the shop F*** up my car? I have been told that it may be the input shaft bearing, to rebuild the trans. I have also benn told since I've not changed the fluid, it may just be old and needs fresh fluid. Car has 89k on it.

My question is how long do I have if it's the bearing? Can I drive it? Or should I get it to a shop immediately?

Any thoughts would be appreciated...

Well it's definitely not your end links, that would be physically impossible to do anything to your trans. If you can get under it and give us a video we could help you out a lot more. Otherwise, estimates at shops are always free.

The trannys in these S197's are notorious for noise and I've heard quite a few that resolved cold weather issues by replacing the oil with a good synthetic.

nukes dead right
i had a v6 with only 12k miles manual..same noises as the v8
reason i went over to auto was the crude clutch and gearboxes on manuals..
