Not sure I'm following this. The hood has already started to crumple the way it's supposed to and it's aluminum, so it's extremely doubtful that you'd ever end up with a too-rigid hood by getting it back to more or less the OE shape.


OP - if you're even considering replacing and installing it yourself, I don't see any harm in first trying to straighten it yourself with various techniques other than metal hammers so that paint damage is minimized. Just carefully leaning on the side of the hood (pic #2) ought to get it enough closer to be a lot less noticeable, and a little careful work with a hammer and a block of wood ought to get pic #1 on the way to looking better. I know I'd have given it a DIY try or two,
