Bought a 2012 GT Today...
Hey,
Today I purchased a 2012 Mustang GT Premium 5.0 with 18k miles and Comfort, HID+Security, and somebody put the Brembo wheels/tires on. I have two immediate questions.
1. I found the directions for the BAMA tune in the glove box. Is there a way I can tell if it is still running the tune? Maybe a feature or something it adds?
2. When I brake hard, a grinding/clunking noise comes from somewhere under the rear of the center console. Really pisses me off. Is this normal? What can that be?
Thanks!

Welcome to the forum! Get a picture up when you can!
I would highly doubt that the car is still tuned. Likely if the directions are in there, but no handheld unit is, the original user likely has taken the tune out and left it at the stock map.
Any grinding or clunking shouldn't be normal on a car, go get it checked out ASAP, it could be a multitude of different things, or a mixture of a few things.
Good luck!

Does the car have any other mods, like an intake or is everything in the engine bay stock?
If you plug the tuner in and it has the option "return to stock" that means your car is currently tuned i believe. Do you even have the tuner?
for the braking, i dont know. the brembo pads may make a bit more scraping noise than non-brembo but i wouldnt think a clunk or grind would come from center consol area.. mabe something with the driveshaft?

1. If there's directions to the Bama tuner, I'm willing to bet the car is either tuned or was tuned at some point. There's really no easy way to tell though! Does the car have any modifications?
2. This sounds really weird and is definitely not normal. I would recommend taking the car back to the dealership and having it checked out!

Welcome to the forum. If the car isn't running a custom tune, it should be ASAP. A good BAMA or Brenspeed tune and you'll add roughly 30-35 RWHP on the 5.0.
Good luck with the brake (or whatever it is) issue.

I just bought a 2011 5.0 and the UPR 93 Octane tune was a huge bump in performance. It will be interesting to see if yours is tuned. You might want to run 93 octane until you figure it out. Did it come with a tuner or cold air intake?
