Anyone Disappointed with GT500 Exhaust?
#11
After listening to about 100 more clips and reading reviews, I think I am down to Roush vs the Borla S Type. I think Borla is the way to go, just need to convince myself it is worth the extra $$$. From online clips, they seem to be the sound I am looking for.

We have a 08 GT500 and let me tell you...even with a 5.4 liter engine, the exhaust is unbelievably quiet!
Most people couldn't believe it.
They just said "I can't believe a Shelby is so quiet!"
If you are looking for a decent volume level in exhaust....
Do NOT get GT500 mufflers. WAAAY to quiet!

Had Roush on my 5.0 and loved them, a friend has Borla S-Type on his 5.0 and they are awesome as well. I have the Borla S-Type on the Shelby now and couldn't be happier. Neither one drone and are awesome at WOT.

I had Borla S-Types on my 2011 GT/CS and absolutely loved them. I have heard good things about the Roushes though too and I think they are a bit cheaper. My friend had a 2012 GT500 SLP and we did several tests and both agreed (as did the neighbors!) that my car with the Borla S Types sounded better in all aspects (Idle, WOT, etc). I will be purchasing another set as soon as I get another Mustang.
