Default Squeaking and creaking control arms...can't take it no mo'

I have Spohn Performance lower control arms on my car (got a good deal on them with the relocation brackets I also have). Ever since installation they have squeaked and creaked over every bump and every time the suspension flexes a little, and it's pissing me off (and yes I have greased them, with silicone grease, didn't make a difference). They have standard polurethane bushings in them. I've been looking at replacing them with J&M lowers...are their special bushings less prone to making so much noise?

Did you tighten the suspension while it was under load (driving height) or while the suspension was unloaded (up in the air)? If you tightened while unloaded, the bushings are binding.

Also did you grease the bushings on the LCA?

Pretty sure I tightened them under load because I remember people recommending that, and I said I greased them. I greased them on installation and have greased them since with a grease gun.

would jack stands under the axle be considered loaded?

Yes. So long as the only support is under the rear axle. The front wheels would need to be on the ground or a ramp, completely unsupported, and there can be no other support under the vehicle.

Oops, sorry, glossed over the greasing part.

Have you contacted the manufacturer to see what they recommend?

Polyurethane bushings is the main material most aftermarket companies use for performance bushings. There are different grades of PU resin so it's possible that this brand uses a different grade than another.

I've personally found white lithium grease to be the best grease for neutralizing poly-squeak.

I thought I read somewhere that using anything but synthetic grease with polyurethane bushings could cause them to degrade over time, or something like that. I dunno, everything I read said only use silicone grease.

When you greased them up, did you apply a good amount of lube to the vertical, flat sides of the bushings? If the bushing was tight in the mounting bracket, the grease on the flat sides of the bushing could have been scraped off during install. Its that part of the bushing that is squeaking in the control arm mounting bracket. Good luck...
