I can't imagine wrecking that beauty and the pain you're feeling.

Sorry to see that this happened...but at least you're ok, and it's fixable! Use this opportunity to get an aftermarket hood and front bumper cover like Pascal said.

I saw the video too. That's scary how the rear end just kept going on a subtle turn of the wheel but sometimes you just can't tell if there's an ice patch on the road.

Frankly I think you were very lucky. Could have been worse but that doesn't lessen the pain your in now. Get full coverage insurance for next time. Good luck on the repair.

No ice, but we did get tons of rain. Sucks to see those pics. That looks a lot like my car. I've always been worried about hydroplaning in my car too and this doesn't make me feel any better. I'm running NT555s year round which do pretty well in the wet. Hopefully we DON'T get ice. The other morning, what was it, Thursday morning? They were talking about freezing rain in the morning commute, I turned off my alarm and went back to sleep. To hell with that. I'll work from home whenever it's going to even be slightly icy!

What did RPD ticket you for? Not that it surprises me. I assume they see a nice Mustang and just assume you were driving like a jackass. You have video evidence to dispute anything they say though. I don't think anything would **** me off more than wrecking my car because of a complete accident, by myself, and still getting a ticket.

When I was in high school, I was involved in an accident. A ticket was issued since I was at fault regardless of conditions. Single car I might add. It's common practice to issue a citation for an accident. Regardless of conditions, speed, etc. the driver is deemed at fault. Crappy? Yes.

I don't believe a citation would hold up unless they can prove you did something illegal to cause the accident (eg, speeding, running red light, wreckless driving, etc). I know I'd fight anything else in court, for sure. The only wreck I've been in resulted in no tickets being issued, so I dunno. OP made it sound like they gave him multiple citations even. I'm sure they'd try to stick to a "driving unsafe for the conditions" type thing. The video may not show speed, but it doesn't LOOK like the driver is going overly fast, and I certainly didn't see any wreckless driving. I was just curious what they claimed though.
