How much difference will a cai make. I was going to get the air raid and tuner combo but will the cai really give me much more gain.

I know the tune will make a world of difference.

The 5.0 has "cold air induction"

Thanks for any info

I would definitely recommend going with the Cold Air Intake and Bama tuner combo kit. This is my first recommendation to anyone who is getting started modding, it makes a world of difference! The Intake looks great, sounds awesome and definitely makes some power. But the big gains are going to be from the tune! With just Intake and Tune on our in house Dyno jet my 2011 GT put down 404 RWHP!

For every Bama Tune we ask you 19 questions about your specific Mustang, including your unique mods and style of driving. This info helps us write custom tunes from the ground-up for your Mustang's mods that will give you the most horsepower that we can safely deliver. We're also constantly developing our tunes! Between our 14 different Project Mustangs and tons of street/track and dyno testing (on our in-house Dynojet 224xLC), we're looking for any minor tweaks to be made that can benefit you guys. We're also part of Fords Technology Transfer Program & Work very closely with Ford to insure that all of our tunes are perfect!

I hope this helps. Feel free to hit me up if you have any questions or need some assistance in the near future! Our Bama Performance tuning specialists are here in the building Monday-Friday from 9AM-5:30PM EST and Saturday 9AM-5:30PM EST. You can hit them up directly at 888.226.9764 and they'll get you squared away!

ill say , go ahead and get a CAI it was worth it and there was a noticeable difference. airaid would probably be the best choice since with the restrictor its able to run the stock tune. Steeda is great too though and probably looks better.
I agree

It's entirely possible. Since even when the first 5.0's were being Dyno tested by the review magazines some Dyno's had them putting down rwhp that equated to about 430+ bhp much to the surprise of the reviewers. When ford was rating them for only 412bhp. Ford was questioned as to whether they provided test cars that were tweaked, to which they said NO and these were running on 87 octane pump gasoline. This is all attributed to variances in the builds coming from the assembly at the plants that would provide a plus or minus variance from that median. SO I can certainly believe there are more than a few assembly line exceptions that will drop numbers on either the low or high side of that median reference bhp number Ford offered up.

That's to be expected.

I ran an canned sct tune for a couple years then decided to go with a custom dyno tune and the difference is phenomenal, I have a few mods, airaid cold air intake, bbk 85mm throttle body, a c&l MAF sensor, upgraded coils, oil separators, pypes high flow cats, magnaflow axle back straight pipes and other suspension stuff, so after I got it tuned I gained about 35 RWHP and about 65 ftlbs of torque which came out to 399.48 max RWHP and 333.76 torque and it’s all bolt on mods so I’m very happy with the results, btw the tuners are NATIONAL SPEED out of Wilmington, NC.
