SCT Xcalibrator 2

SCT Xcalibrator 2
So I still have my old SCT Xcal 2 that I used with my 2005 Mustang V6. Hoping to get a few questions answered to figure out if it's worth holding onto, or if I should pass it on.
1. Can this be used in any way with my 2014 Mustang GT? (I'm thinking no)
2. How can I found out if my Xcal 2 is locked? For instance, it has 3 tunes from Evolution Performance, but if I hand it off to someone else, they'd probably want to reprogram it with tunes to match their mods.
Thanks in advance!

You guessed correctly. The Xcal2 won't work on the newer Mustangs because the tune files are much bigger and it doesn't have enough memory.
If you didn't set your 2005 back to stock when you sold it then your Xcal2 is still locked to the old car. It has to be unlocked by SCT for $150.

Thanks for the info fellas. Looks like it's a brick then (didn't restore my V6 back to stock when I traded it). So unless someone wants to pick it up from me for free, it'll be in the garbage soon. PM me if anything.

Instead of throwing it away, you should contact the dealer you traded it in too and try and get it to whoever bought your old car. Without that tuner they will have to pay Ford to have the computer reprogrammed.

Why wouldn't the dealership restore it stock on their own? Last I heard, they're sending the car off to auction.

The xcal is still usable to older vehicles.
If you want to throw it away, I'll pay for shipping for you to send it to me
Jim I seldom contradict you, but this is simply not true. The LiveLoad software for xcal2 allowed you to "reset" and unmarry the device, up to 5 times, without sending it back to sct. I've done it on mine, up to the limit.
