To make it go as fast as possible, the same formula that applies to a V8 car applies to a V6.

Weight reduction/redistribution:

0) Install Tubular K-member and a-arms with lighten the car by at least 30 pounds in the front.

1) Install light-weight radiator support.

2) Install an aluminum driveshaft.

3) Remove the air pump and/or spare tire from the spare tire well (weight reduction)

4) Install a billet aluminum flywheel.

5) Move the battery to the passenger side trunk to aid in weight distribution.

6) Remove the back seat and the passenger seat, and replace the driver's seat with a
Kirkley aluminum non-adjustable seat.

7) Do NOT add a body kit of any kind. The parts are almost always heavier than the OEM stuff. AQlso, avoid the temptation to install a fiberglass hood. They're heavier than the OEM aluminum hood.

Engine:

0) Install some long-tube headers and a catless X-pipe, along with at least 2.5 inch pipes and muffler delete axle-backs.

1) Install a larger throttle body, a CAI, and maybe even a ported intake. Then, get a CUSTOM tune. Do NOT rely on packaged tunes to get you where you want to be.

-or -

2) Install a Procharger and get a decent tuner guy to tune it for you. Unfortunately, a super/turbo charger is the ONLY way to add significant HP to the 3.7. A turbo may cost a little less if you piece a system together yourself, but you can install a procharger kit in your garage in a single day if you're motivated and have some help.

Rear end:

0) Install 3.73 gears

Tires/wheels:

0) Get some drag radials for the back, if you can't hook up,. you're wasting your time.

1) Get some skinnies you can run at the strip. They're much lighter, and create less friction.

Suspension:

0) Replace the UCA and LCAs with parts that use poly bushings. You may also need LCA relocation brackets to help prevent wheel hop.

1) Get a watts link to keep the rear end centered under the car. I would recommend one that bolts to the diff cover because it's a little lighter than the Fays2 style.

I bet if you do everything on this list, you'll skip completely over the 12's and see 11's.
