Clearcoat spots on rear bumper?

Clearcoat spots on rear bumper?
I have a 2013 Deep Impact Blue Pony. Around Sept I noticed a few "dots" on the rear bumper. Didn't think much of it then, but when I had my car detailed last week I noticed a lot more. They look like small water spots and have to viewed at a certain angle to see them. Took it into the dealer Fri and they took some pictures to send to Ford. Heard back from them today, Ford says the rear bumper is not a warrantable item and it looks like a caustic substance Was put on it to make the paint bubble. Nothing is wrong with the paint just the clearcoat. My question is, has anyone else had this problem? I'm going to appeal to Ford because I keep her in the garage and cleaned as much as possible. There are no other spots on the rest of the car, only they center of the rear bumper. Thanks

If the paint issue was caused by improper painting by Ford, then it should be covered by the 3yr/36k mile warranty. If the issue was caused by an outside factor, (e.g. something caustic coming into contact with a good paint job), then it would not be covered under warranty.
I suggest taking the car to an independent body shop for an opinion as to the cause.

Landscapers spraying crap on your lawn, commercial truck with stuff dripping from it that 'splased' your car, someone walking by with crap in their hands that splashed, near a car shop or next to someone working on their car, industrial overspray from something being sprayed on near by, sprinkler water hit your car....the list goes on and on about what could cause those spots.
If there are more and more appearing, I'm going to say its environmental. Check to see where you park and if you can, what goes on around that area during the day....
And yes, take it to a body shop to see what they say.

I called them today and they said I could appeal it by taking it back to the body shop and have them write a statement. They still stand by the environmental factor, but I tried to explain to them that you can't feel the bubbles or see them looking normally at the car. They can only be viewed at a certain angle. If it was environmental you should at least be able to feel them. It seems they're between the clearcoat and the paint.

I suspect that your bumper has been repainted before the car was sold to you.
Car got damaged during unloading or moving around the lot, I have seen this with my own eyes, lol.
Also, almost all dealers have poor body shop craftmanship and I've seen horrific repairs from them.
See if your body shop can tell if it's been repainted, if so, you'll win that one.
Good luck.
