Default Boss steering wheel in 2013 GT/CS

I've tried searching for this & find hints but no definite answer. I have the leather steering wheel with all the controls including the navigation buttons for the center console (on the left part of the steering wheel).

I've been looking at the Boss 302 or GT500 steering wheels & I can find them reasonable with either no buttons or with different buttons instead of the navigation buttons on the left side.

My question is; Can I swap out the buttons/harness between the two steering wheels?

I don't want to pay the $ for a plug and play replacement just to get the alcantara suede or alcantara/leather look.

TIA.

I've been thinking about the same things (have a '13 CS with track pack). The alcantra would match my seats. Hopefully somebody knows the answer.

Thanks. Is that from experience or have you seen it done? I will probably order one soon. I've swapped wheels before so I don't think it'd be a big deal but as my only car I have to make sure I have everything before I start.

people do it all the time. I'm fine with my blue stitched steering wheel.

yes, they should be interchangeable. even though the buttons are different on 13+, the base of the buttons should be the same.

it's a matter of preference and I started with a boss 302 wheel but switched to a GT500 and love it.

btw, cheapest prices you will find:

you will see the fitment covers 10-14 mustangs.

Dang...that is a good price. GT500 is what I was thinking...that is what I will go with.

Have you heard of anyone changing the location of the buttons? I would rather have the volume and sync controls on the left side of the steering wheel vs the right (not trying to steal this thread )

I swapped the Boss wheel into my '06 GT 'vert. I LOVE IT. The radio buttons don't function, but I don't care about that. My Cruise Control buttons all work and that's all I care about. the Alcantera is wonderful.

@Bones302 - Appreciate the links! Thanks!

What did you like about the GT500 wheel better than the Boss 302? I was leaning towards the Boss 302 but my wallet just got me liking the GT500 a lot. The grips may be better on the GT500 wheel. I'm really tempted to go ahead and order it - that's a decent price & gives me the look I like.
