2005 GT mustang wont start??
No major problems with my car until now. Drove my car to work...sat for about an hour. Went to turn it on, nothing. Then the alarm went off. I thought it was maybe the battery but then I got a jump from 2 dif people and nothing. Meanwhile the whole time, the freaking alarm is going off! The radio turns on, power seat works, alarm arms and disarms. I checked the system and it says the charging system and everything elese is good. Any ideas before I have it towed home?

Hard to say without the car being in front of me. I have a few possibilities:
CRANKING:
1) Check the fuel disconnect switch. It's a small magnetic switch that can become dislodged from movement.
NOT CRANKING:
2) Could still be a dead battery. Trying to jump a dead battery can still result in a no start situation. Try using the headlights and stereo with the key on and see if everything else works.
3) Verify that the starter cable hasn't been cut- it's a large red cable.
4) Verify that the battery ground is still attached.
5) The anti-theft system could be locked. There is a feature that will disable the EEC if someone tries to start the car without the correct key (code from the microchip) more than 3 times. If this happens, the Ford IDS is the only tool that can unlock it. HOWEVER, I have had situations where the Vehicle Security Module can malfunction and set the alarm on and off at random intervals; thus, not starting the vehicle.

If you think it's the battery, try a jump start. On older type batteries, you could hook up to the good battery and start the car with the bad battery right away. Now you sometimes need to do the hookup and wait a few minutes before you try to start the car with the bad battery.

Assuming you're using good jumper cables, your car shouldn't be able to tell the difference between where the cranking power is coming from UNLESS your battery is causing the other guys alternator to be insufficient. Does your car crank with the jumpered car? What happens to the dome light when you try to crank with the jump? This could be a bad cable, starter, fuse... quite a few things.

i had the same issue about 4 years ago with my 05. It turned out being the brain or whatever it is called on the factory alarm. It went out on me and wouldnt start. had to tow it to ford dealership, they replaced it, no more problems.

Try disconnecting the terminals and reconnecting them to the battery. My girlfriends 2000 is having issues and the terminal was cleaned and it still has issues so I need to replace it soon. All electronics still worked but the car wouldn't start. disconnect/reconnect has worked every time so far

Sorry never closed this Thread out from a while back but, all I needed to do was, disconnect the battery, leave the key in the ignition at the "ON" position, then connect the battery. Resets the battery or something like that. Anyways, thanks for all the replies.
