Default 07' GT to 13' v6 premium

Hello all,

I wanted to get everyones input and opinion on the purchase I soon will be making. 2 months ago I gave my brother my 2007 GT. I have been driving my dads Dodge Journey in the mean time. I am in love with the 2013-14 body, so I noticed a 2013 black v6 premium with 11k miles listed for $22,999. I knew right away that is WAY to high, and with one simple email the salesman dropped it to $20k. In my opinion that is still high, but my max I can really spend is about $19k, I believe I can get them down to this with some negotiating seeing they have had it in the lot for a while, but my question is- would the $19k price point a good deal overall? The car has 19" black rims and a top and bottom billet grill which I view as a plus. In my area all stangs are marked fairly high incomparison to many other areas I see. I would settle for an 11' GT for example for the same price but their are 0 in my area listed under $24k. Since many here have bought 13/14 premiums I wanted to get an overall opinion if that is a fair deal and if anyone has seen better for a premium (KBB/Truecar/Edmunds list good deal at $21k).

Thanks so much in advance

I ran somewhat into the same problem with my 2010 grabber vert GT

I wanted the premium with manual trans fully loaded without nav. Oh and the factory black stripes

Nothing no where anywhere. The closest thing I could find was one in New York without the heated seats and a few other items

I ended up finding the only one in the US in Rhode Island 15 hours + away

And they wanted $25,999 18k miles

After going back and fourth a month later they came down to 23$ which was still high but to get exactly what I wanted I had to pay for it.

Why not maybe a 2011 GT?

Don't overpay on a car....you'll be upside on the next one, costing you more money!!

Yeah, bump up your searching range. You'll have a car for awhile. It would be worth it for a little bit of a drive. I don't think that sounds like an awful deal, but it doesn't sound great. $18k sounds like a good number, but I don't know if you'll get them that low since it is a premium.

Thanks to all that have replied. I did bump my range and to be honest their are very few v8 (2011-12) that are low mileage and can come down to my price point. I may go and take the car for $19,000.

and Tanner, wow I remember when I last posted you had a red v6! Love the new car!

I would not buy a V6 Mustang of any year. It's Mustang sure, but you can have a dealership find you a GT and truck it in.

KBB is pegging "fair value" in the $23k range for an automatic '13 V6 premium w/ 11k miles in California. I'm not sure what packages they have on the one you're looking at, but I'd definitely talk them down further. I mean, if they dropped $3k so quickly, then I'd think they have a bit more wiggle room. Anything under $20k, to me, would be a steal granted they go for $26k brand new. Ultimately, the value you get from the car is a function of what you're willing to pay for it.

Someone mentions "V6" in a thread, it's just a matter of time before one of these posts pop up.

Thank you for the input. After further research, their is slim to none 11-12 GTs that I can obtain in the similar price range.
