Default went to the dealer for a paint seal... came home with....

Wtf???? My car and stripes are brand new. I dropped her off at the dealer to get a paint sealant and when I got her home and started to look her over real good I notice the stripe on my hood if all messed up. I know they had to have done it and noticed the damage. Now I'm pissed. They told me they would get back back in touch with me on the fix.... but jeez. Anyone know if there is a fix or will It have to be replaced?

If that was my new GT500, that service manager would wake up with a severed horse's head in his bed.

It will have to be replaced. I can see a tear, and it is stretched as well. Looks like someone used a wheel on the stripe and pulled it.

The only Shelbys that have the option of painted on stripes is the GT350 and GTS. That's because the GT500 is built by Ford, and the GT350/GTS are hands-on modified in the Shelby facility in Vegas. Of course, you could have the dealer paint stripes on a GT500, but that's not technically a factory option.

Vinyl is cheap - that's why they use it.

Why would you waste your time and money getting a dealer to apply a "Paint Seal"? That's nothing but a huge profit item dealers try to sell to shake money out of your pockets.

Those Vinyl stripes can be very carefully hit with a heat gun to shrink it back... then sprayed with a mild window cleaner and squeegeed back to a smooth finish. if i did it myself. Then I'd bill them back for the work.

Just saying.

How they handle it might be as simple as just re-striping...it is after all just vinyl tape.

Personally...I'd try to spray my own on. Then again...its what I was raised doing so I'm like..."meh"...not a problem.

I'm not jabbing anyone, just offering my $0.02...

I also would take my GT500 to the dealer for this application. I know the dealer does not do this, some guy in a van comes in and applies the sealant. I would rather have the dealer to go back to in the event of a problem than try to find the "guy in a van".

Good Luck OP.
