TUNER
Hey Guys,
I have the Airaid CAI and the magnaflow competition catback installed on my mustang so i was just wondering if a tune would make any difference in the performance of the car and if its still too early for me to tune it?

Any time you add airflow to a modern, computerized vehicle, tuning will always let the car take advantage. In some cases, intakes and exhaust without a tune, can actually lose hp as well.
The S197 Mustang gains a considerable amount of power from tuning alone, and a bit from exhaust. Probably the biggest change in air flow is going to come from the mid pipe. If you plan on keeping the cats, get it tuned, otherwise, wait.

Hey Musty I through on an intake, off raod X pipe and a tune and it woke my car up huge. Feel like a new car. I would highly recommend a tune with the parts you have.
Also like troponin said the mid pipe without cats helps as much or more than the cat back exhaust

even if the car is stock, a tune will make a difference as any power increase given by the exhaust and intake is at this point pretty much negligible on the 5.0 from the factory as it already has quite large exhaust piping volume, given the engine size and power level, and the intake is already as large as throttle body diameter and has a decent path.
