I got a set of Kooks mufflers, and a pypes X pipe at the same time, i installed the mufflers alone, and it was a noticeable diff in loudness. not over loud, but now it sounded like a mustang. the car i bought.

then i added the x pipe. (O/R) and damn... loud loud loud. the mufflers made the MOST NOTICEABLE DIFFERENCE due to the way they're designed to make the exhaust note sound. when the car idles, its a low rumble that intimidates mechanics. WOT, i hear more of the engine than i do the exhaust. its just between 2000-4500 RPM where the noise comes from.

I would first put the stock mufflers back on. its going to be a bit louder than stock, but it you dont like the way it sounds, put back on stock H pipe and add mufflers. if you go to american muscle.com, they have sound clips for most of the exhaust they sell.

they didnt have the Kooks, but if you ask anyone who's been around mustangs long enough, they will tell you Kooks makes amazing parts. and THATS why i chose kooks.

try a few different things, if all else fails, get a new wife.

I already put a CAI on and 93 race tune so it is tuned for the O/R H-pipe. I think I will just put the stock mufflers back on and see how it sounds. My wife isnt pissed. She wanted to louder than stock but this set up is even too loud for me lol. I think i will just try and sell the Flowmasters. Thanks everyone for the input.

won't fit. different pipes, lengths angles and sizes.

For what it's worth, a catless vert really doesn't work unless you have like stock GT500 axlebacks on it, keep the stock resonators and then go catless.

I have no resonators, Borla S-Types, and stock midpipe/cats, and I think it's plenty loud, as in perfect loudness for me, and wouldn't want it any louder.
