Default Door speaker wiring?

I have a shaker 500 system (had), dumped it and installed a Kenwood DDX-471, 400 watt 2ch amp in the trunk (with Kappa Series Coaxial Speakers) and a 800 watt sub in the trunk.

Sounds fantastic now, I'm addressing the speakers in the door (not the subs, their getting tossed). Now I'm trying to find information regarding the wire identification under the dash so I can install a new Polk 300 watt 2 ch amp for the front speakers. I plan on mounting it were the old sub amp was, on the kick panel.. I don't want to re-run wire when its already there. I can't seem to find any documentation on where these wires are and the colors.

Anyone?

it's going to need a thicker power wire run to it, as well as ground and remote. it might be easier just to put a 5-channel in the trunk.

this should help. in the index there is a 2005 and 2011 manual.

in the middle of major audio changes myself, so i hope this helps!

Thanks, yeah I'm aware of the power needed. I just need to locate the door speaker wiring under the dash in the kick panel area to make the wiring of the amp much neater (and easier).

I'm in a similar boat as you. just upgraded the rears and fronts, stock door mids, stock trunk sub.

new better than my upgrade door components arrived today, removed the stock sub/amp,

and I'm going to buy a new 5-channel as soon as I can to get the thump back to the trunk (and see how long the stock sub will last behind it!) and to give the door components and midbass a big shot in the arm.

Very cool... I'm very happy so far with the sound and making the trunk thump (lol).. I have Pioneer TS-A6885R 6" X 8" 4-Way's coming tomorrow to mount in the doors. Then the next step is a 200 or 300 watt 2ch amp for the fronts.

4-ways? that's a lot of ways for a single speaker source.

I have Polk Momo 5.25" Components, and Polk 5x7's in the car so far.

Alpine PDX-V9 5-way amp will be coming, along with Dayton 8" Midbass drivers, and a 12" SubBass driver. Front doors will get the Four channels, and the trunk will get the sub.

I'll continue to have the rear speakers running off of my Kenwood DNX-891HD Navi unit.

car audio is fun when you do it right.

I still remember my first build had a $150 deck, $50 front speakers, and $65 rear speakers, a $100 amp and a $150 subs.

Here I am now with a $1200 deck, $300 in components and 5x7's, $600 on a new amp, and $400 in midbass/subs

well that's one benefit of getting older.

Very true! Getting into my older age now (60) I have some free money now that the kids are gone. Yeah, the Pioneer TS-A6885R 6" X 8" 4-Way got good reviews so I figured I would give them a try. With all the power and fantastic sound I have in the rear of the car, I can get by without an amp in the front. But, you know how it goes. Need to do a little upgrade. I have a Polk PA330 powering the rear 6x8's and it does a fantastic job. I may just get another one for the front. All else fails trying to find the wiring in the kick panel, I may just pull the head unit out again and tap into it there.

100w for the fronts would be more than adequate for 90% of what you'll throw at it.

heck even 75w would be.
