Meguiar's leather cleaner damaged seat

At least I'm not the only one. Sorry about your seats! I stooped before it got worse. That spot still feels very off. Kinda drags when fabric or my hand runs accross it.

I've used this product on my seats. Other than it getting stuck in the little holes it's served it's purpose. The seats are clean and the leather is nice.

I notice that you said you sprayed it on. The Maguire's product I used is a cream style product similar to bottle wax. Rub it in a buff it off.

Above is what I used, just confirmed it while cleaning out my garage and I threw it out. Took the black straight off, and just like the OP it's rough now instead of smooth.

Ok, so you tested it on another area and that area wasn't damaged? If I read that wrong, sorry, but if I did read it right, I would assume that the previous owner had put something on the seats to make them look newer. It's hard to blame the product when there can be so many factors going into. But, if it didn't hurt another area, then I'd say the previous owner did something to the seats. If not, call Meguiar.

Previous owner did nothing to the seats. He's a close family member and I've already asked him he never even cleaned the seats.

Yes he was. He was also very **** about it. I have every receipt from any mantanince and the original window sticker lol. Anything that was wrong he took it to the dealer and such. So I know the car is clean.
