Chirping/Squeaking related to wheels(?)
Hey MFers,
'06 GT, just hit 50k miles. I've noticed a very faint chirping/squeaking noise (I believe) related to the front wheel area. It is speed dependent, meaning the frequency increases at higher speeds, which leads me to believe that it is something in the wheel area. From what I guess it occurs once per wheel rotation.
Any ideas?
Edit - The noise clearly gets worse when turning to the right and putting load on the left side. Conversly, if i am hearing the noise and corner to the left (de-loading the left side), the noise goes away. The noise goes away when any sort of brakes are applied.

This is likely not the cause of your noise, since yours seems to relate more to speed, but there is a TSB out for the front lower control arms. I think one symptom is a creek noise going over bumps and such. Again, prolly a different problem, but thought I'd throw it out there.

It does not get better or worse when turning or when under load. I notice no difference when braking or accelerating. I notice it more when coasting off throttle, but this is most likely just because there is less engine noise.

If you recently had brakes done, then it could be a bearing. This is highly unlikely though because they usually make much more noise than you described and change noise when turning.

automatic or manual tranny?
Manual tranny could be the throwout bearing, when your foot is off the clutch the bearing squeaks. When your foot is on the clutch, it will not squeak.
If you're an auto then it could be a wheel bearing.

Hey guys. Still haven't managed to solve the problem.
Here is a video of the issue. Can really hear it at the beginning of the vid.

Had the pads checked out. Not even half worn.
The problem has now evolved in that it gets worse when turning to the right (loading up on the left side) and ceases when brakes are applied at any pressure.
