Default V6 transmission interchangeable with V8?

Will the V6 manual T5 bellhousing fit the V8 Tremec?

No. You need an adapter plate to use the tr3650 on the 4.0

The v6 transmissions use a smaller bellhousing and different bolt pattern than v8 bellhousings. What are you trying to do???

I was curious because they are both borgwarner/tremec and thought it would be possible they could have the same pattern on the gearbox.

I am building a cologne 2.9 with turbo and about 450whp which has the same bolt pattern as the 4.0. But I think the T5 is bit to weak, especially since they are quite expensive to buy here and not that common. It will probably be a bmw gearbox instead with adapter plate.

Yeah, I wouldn't fart with the T5 at those power levels.
