Default My Dyno Run

So a local dyno place had their annual "Dyno Days" event and I decided to strap my car down to see what it would run.

I'm supposedly 435hp at the flywheel, anything over 350hp would make me happy.

I didn't quite run it to 6k rpm, but I managed 370.93hp & 354.25ft/lb torque at the rear wheels.

The video is kind of boring... but I sure like hearing that supercharger whine!

Wow, is that it? I'm not saying that to be a d-bag either but I would be pissed if I dropped thousands on a blower kit to make only 30/15 more than what an NA 3V makes with cams and bolt-ons.... My car made 340/337

Meh, I bought the car with it all on so I didn't drop thousands. And at 435 rated flywheel HP, 370 at the wheels isn't bad is it?

Like Redfire said...I would be a little disappointed in that. My 2005 Vortech NON H/O put down over 390hp to the wheels on a hot July day at Brenspeeds facility.

Who tuned it? If you don't know...i would call Brenspeed or Hypermotive to get that thing tuned. Others may know more about the Roushcharger than me...but I have always understood that those S/Cers should put down more than a centri S/Cer.

my .02

Oh well that is a different story then! Through an automatic that is about right then. I am sure if you had it re-tuned or added some supporting mods you could get it over 400! I bet it is still fun and is a kick in the pants!

Through an automatic? What do you mean?

As far as mods go, the only engine mods are the S/C & a K&N filter. It has a Corsa exhaust but its only axle-back. Brakes have been upgraded & I have a Roush short throw shifter but obviously that doesnt matter

And you're right, it goes plenty fast for me. I don't need to be the fastest thing on 4 wheels in town. It sounds good and sounds good.

There was a 4 banger import putting down 471hp with wheel slip on that Dyno....But I'm sure he had more $$ in that engine than I have in my whole car.

I would retune it...I would think Brent would be able to squeeze more ponies out of it.

I'm obviously no car expert here, so help me understand....

435 flywheel HP is low OR 370 RWHP is low? Or is the 65 HP loss from flywheel to rear wheel off?

65 hp loss from engine to wheels doesn't sound terrible to me.

Oh, I also did my run in 3rd gear (dyno owner told me to run it in 3rd) 4th gear is 1:1 isn't it? Would gear matter?

Should be 4th through an auto or manual....

When I say "through an auto" I am meaning those numbers are probably through an automatic transmission assuming you have one.
