found a solution this past weekend. Bought a Focus ST. It's an amazing little hot hatch. I recommend everyone do this instead of get a bike rack.

Not quite as cost effective as getting a rack, any pics of the new ride with a bike?

Wow I'm glad there was a post for this as I ride too but I can barely even fit my cervelos wheels in this thing I too am very sketchy about putting anything other then a hitch rack on my car as I hate scratches. Jeremy813's looks like a nice setup that I'm going to emulate.

Although I've never tried it, doesn't a full size road or mountain bike fit inside a 2013 trunk if you lower the rear seat and take off the front wheel?

I have a 2000 Honda Accord daily driver which is same size as a Mustang and it fits fine doing it the same way. I obviously use this car to go biking.

Of course you'd want to put a tarp or something on the floor and into the seat area to catch dirt.

Yakima system looks good... as you can have many options.. kayak rack... that sort of thing. Unfortunately... I have Ventshades on my 'Stang... and that pretty much precludes the Yakima system.

What I'm looking to do it come up with something that I can one-man on and off a kayak or cartop boat. I know... not exctly what you wanna do with a 'Stang... but I need to do something. I have a couple of ideas kicking around... and once I put something together, I'll post it up.

Unless of course... I find something else already done I can emulate.

Bringing this thread back to life... anyone have any pics of their Mustang with a trailer hitch installed? The only thing holding me back from getting anew Mustang really is the need to carry my bike. Usually 2-3 days a week I bring my bike into work with me and ride after work. Right now I just throw the bikes into the backseat of my Titan and then just toss it into the flatbed for the drive home after riding. I really miss my Mustang and the new 2018 looks super appealing, but before I jump back into one I want to make sure the trailer hitch looks ok.

thanks,

Nice mustang!...Can you please tell me the make and model of your bike rack? I have a 2014 Ford Mustang convertible and can't find one that works.
