Ford recommended 75/140 - 2 quarts and on bottle of the Ford Friction Modifier. I just put the modifier in one of the quarts and then put it in the diff housing.

Man she is quite!! Almost to the point I think something is wrong. I did not realize just how load it was with the bearings going bad..

I think the friction modifier is mostly to reduce/eliminate limited slip clutch chatter, not whine. Whine is a setup or wear issue.

Norm
It's a stock rear end, haven't swapped any gears, yet. All I did was swap fluids to RP synthetic.

Upgraded control arms improve stability, but certainly don't seem to be necessary for this car. That rear end becomes sketchy in the 10-second zone. You should be fine for a while.

Cool

So after driving the car for a bit with the new rear end I can report she is very quiet! BUT I did not reprogram the PCM yet with the new gear ratio. The issue is/was the car had a tune on it and when I tried to use my Diablo Trinity the device saw a custom tune and would not over right it. It needs the stock to backup. So I have been driving her for a bit on this tune......HMMMM she does not like that! The transmission is NOT happy. She gets confused in third and slips up to 6K RPM and then slams into 4th...and that is NOT putting my foot into it just driving.

So I took the PCM out and sent it to Diablo Sport. They flashed it and overnighted it back to me at NO COST!! What a great company!! I will put in the new PCM today and then put a tune on it with the new gears and we shall see. I’ll keep you updated.

Great service. Keep us posted.

Out of curiosity, what was your car's axle ratio before the 3.73's went in?
