Exploding Air Bags

Exploding Air Bags
I was watching the news this morning and they talked about an updated list for the exploding air bags, so I did a search and found that 2005-2007 Mustangs are potentially affected.
Should we be waiting for a recall notice or take our car in? Maybe Deysha can provide an answer for us.
Thanks
Eddie

This program is a proactive, preventative investigation by Ford and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). Ford is voluntarily conducting this program to replace certain airbag inflators manufactured by Takata Corporation on vehicles originally sold or currently registered in Florida, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The driver and/or passenger front airbags may rupture in the event of a crash.
A defect determination has not yet been made. This collaborative investigation with NHTSA is a preventive action to help understand the scope of this issue.
As edwin108 mentioned, you are welcome to check if your vehicle has any recalls here. If your vehicle is part of any recall, be sure to make an appointment with your dealer a soon as possible.

Wow, that company (Takata Corp) will hopefully have some serious penalties or be put out of business, EVERY SINGLE manufacturer they have supplied to over the decades are at risk it seems. BWM, Toyota, Mercedes, Etc....

I've been dealing with this concerns for a couple years when I was at Nissan and now at Toyota..... Toyota had suspended the recall because their finding where the new inflators were not correcting the problem. I agree TAKATA has to pony up some bucks for any injuries/deaths that may have occurred.
