Got the infamous "Check Charging System" notification, switched to a PA Performance Alternator and the accompanying wire harness and haven't had a single issue with it since.

Well I guess we all see PA performance is kind of a hit or miss. Some have had luck and some have not. The real issue that I had was with the customer service.

Well, my alternator should be delivered today. I hope to install it next day or two. Hope I am one of the "hits". We'll see.

This is why. Life time warranty. Read the fine print, and you can see how difficult they can make it.

When I finally got through to them all they seemed to want do is find excuses or possible circumstances as to how to deny the warranty. They were going out of their way to turn me down. Like I said in my post, it was brand new in the box. Good customer service is not their strong point

I'm sure you'll be fine. I haven't had any battery or charging issues since I installed mine 2 years ago. The car always starts up eagerly now. Only beef I have with it is that it doesn't have a clutch pulley, so it squeaks when the car shifts hard 2-3 and 3-4 (tuned auto)

I sold my 06 gt stang to a friend. Has 59k miles, c&l race intake, PA performance 200 amp alternator, brand new battery, charge motion delete plates, tune from BAMA and a few other things. For some reason the battery indicator on the dash keeps going up and down and will eventually the headlights will start flickering on and off along with the dash lights. The alternator and battery have been tested, alternator is at 14 amps and the battery is brand new. Checked all connections to make sure they are not loose or burnt in any way. The alternator cable was upgraded to the larger cable to handle the larger alternator as well. Made sure the correct tune is on the car as well. When this happened the next morning the car was completely dead. Had the battery recharged and would last about 50 miles before the battery indicator started to fluctuate again. I have no idea what is going on. Does anyone know or have any suggestions.

A 200 amp PA should be putting out way more than 14 amps, even at idle

I got the SR alternator for my 89 fox. Works fine. Make the upgraded power wire yourself. No sense in spending $60 on a wire with a fuse.

150 amp SR alternator = $200

I have PA that was added to my b302 build. I drove it a bit and on the track. Took it back to brenspeed for a few other things to be done. My dad picked up the car and notice the charging light on in the car. He took it back to brenspeed and they replaced it free of charge. Other than that mine has worked fine and its been on for a about 2 years now
