Koni 8241 1240 Sport
I was driving my 2007 Mustang GT to town today and I started hearing a loud metallic/rattling sound. Really bad noise. So I took my car to my mechanic and it was determined that the noise is coming from the rear left shock area. They are the Koni Sport 8241 1240 Sport. We removed the shock and I drove the car a short ways and no more metallic rattling sound. I drove the car home without the shock installed (3 miles and the noise was gone. But these shocks are only 4-1/2 years old and I only drive the car approximately 4000 miles per year. So by removing the Koni and not hearing the bad noise can we determine its the shock? This is a gas shock. If anyone can tell me how to check the shock please do so. But like I said that once we removed it the noise went away.
Thanks

Thank you. Because this shock is gas filled and adjustable with the turning of a **** supplied by Koni if I turn the **** to the softest position and compress the shock it does return slowly. But if I set it on the firmer side there is no rebound. Hope this makes sense.
