I installed the doorsills on my 2007 convertible as instructed. I did make a couple of bobbles such as not disconnecting the battery, not connecting blue/black with red, green/ yellow with black (the first time). Still not 100% sure the door sills are hooked up right (looking at the plug with smooth side down and wires away from me I used far left for black and far right for red looking for the lights to be blue). I made sure all splicers were snug and squeezed with pliers. I even checked for continuity between all connections and wires. When I used my voltmeter and tested voltage using the black/blue and green/yellow I had zero voltage no matter what I tried (doors open, closed) and I don't notice and electrical issues. I gues my questions are, what fuse should I be checking? What causes the sills to turn on? Any ideas what could be wrong? Can you burn out the sill (figured diodes are one way so wasn't sure)?

I’m not familiar with the light set up you are trying to install. Lets start with the basics. Touch the negative multi-meter lead and the negative battery terminal (use a jumper wire if your leads won’t reach). Touch the positive meter lead to the black/blue wire with the door open & closed. Then touch the positive meter lead to the green/yellow wire with the door open & closed. What readings do you get?
