Gt emblem, black out
Hey guys. In the final stage of blacking out my 2010 gt. all lights, windows, and truck emblem is done. Only thing left would be fender emblems. Little concerned afte finding out they have pins. I Originally wanted to completely debadge it, but dont want to have to fill holes. Any ideas? If you recommend new emblems, let me know if you know of a place that carries them. I have seen aluminum ones, but think i would rather stick to plastic if possible. The aluminum ones i fou d also dont have the pins... Appreciate all info given as always....

So, I doubt Ford changed much from the build of fender emblems on my 2000 new edge to your 2010. More likely than not there will be holes to locate the emblem. The easiest way to get them off without damaging the paint is to heat the emblem with a hair dryer (working slowly to not damage the paint) and then take fishing line behind the emblem, slowly going down. All that is left to do is to clean up the tape residue with goof off or the like. I have seen latemodelrestoration has some really cool black emblems available. This is what worked for me when I blacked out my emblems on my newedge, things might have changed or others on the forums might have a better way of doing it. Hope this helps!

The emblems are small enough. Mask them off and spray them. I plasti-dipped mine and cut out the red period in 5.0. Mine came out great. One of these days I will spray them with paint, but I am more than happy with the flat black look of the plasti-dip.

I purchased a black plastic one from American Muscle for my 2014 GT. I know we have different badges. I went ahead and recolored the decimal point in the "5.0" to match the BOSS 302 coil-pack covers under my hood. (I also matched the "5.0" on my engine dress-dress-up cover to match the ones on the fender.
I wouldn't recommend deleting the badge all together. This is only just my opinion. But you'd have to contend with the indexing holes and once those were erased, your car would look like a V6. Maybe do something really unique? Get some replacement "GT" badges in black (or spray them black) and then carefully paint the lines in the letters an accent color?
Here are some pics of my "5.0" badges.
