I didn't even know there were motorcycles with airbags. What's next, lawnmowers? Honestly they should really do away with those things or find a less lethal form of deployment.

they're not being recalled because airbags are lethal per se, they're being recalled because Takata used a propellant (a different one from the rest of the industry) which, when exposed to moisture over a long period of time, will detonate and blow its canister to shrapnel. Airbag propellants are not supposed to detonate; they're supposed to burn rapidly in a controlled manner.

I have wondered that too. Different propellant maybe? To relieve anxiety, you would think Ford and all the other auto manufactures would have mentioned why passenger-side airbags are not involved.
