Anybody running a Shock Tower Brace in the trunk of their S197?
I'm working on a project for the trunk of my car where I need something that functions like a shock tower brace in the trunk of my car to act as a mounting point for this small project.
In this case, a shock tower brace just provides for the perfect mounting location for what I'm trying to do; I actually don't need a shock tower brace. Because of that, and the money I'm trying to save, I'm avoiding purchasing a shock tower brace. I've got a friend with a steel business that said he would help me out with fabbing up something to work for me.
My friend's shop can probably just measure the span and do me up a piece of steal and punch the holes in it I need. I'm wonder if it will hurt the car if I have the holes done kind of oblong to allow for more room to get it lined up when installing it.
Also, if you have you, would you mind pulling some measurements off of it like it's length, and the diameter of the holes? Thanks!

I realized after looking at my trunk that the spec's I would need would be unfair to ask for. It would probably require the removal of the brace. Thanks though.
