Default Question On Type Of Gas.

I have a 2005 Mustang Gt (everything stock). Since I do not have a tune I have been going with 87 Octane which is what is recommended by ford in the owner's manual (instead of 89 octane). Is 87 Octane is the lowest recommended gas to put in your 05 GT. Possibly in a few months I may get CAI and predator tune for 93. I am not used to putting 87 in cars since most of are cars take 93. I put 93 octane in my 5.0 because i have an increased timing and other mods. (sorry for the long post a ignorant question. i know that if the car should take 87 then putting 89 will not increase perfomance whatsoever).

Is 87 Octane is the lowest recommended gas to put in your 05 GT? Should i be putting 89 octane in my car before i get the tune. The car runs perfectly fine on 87, but i was just curious.

well there's nothing lower than 87 octane so use that unless you get it tuned for high test gas... which would be wierd considering no one is paying you to go a little bit faster! Save the $$$ unless you're at the track!

I've been running 87 in mine since day one with no problems x2. I am going to put a CAI with a Predator tune on the blue one. Since I use mine for a daily commuter at about 135 miles per day, I am going to use the 87 octane tune to see how it will perform. If I need to, I'll go up to the 89 octane.
