Hi its a black box under the car between the back wheels and it got snatched out from under my car when I went over a high curb an it broke off. It was still attached buy a wire connection an the hose it was connected to broke off
Also now the check engine light is on. Please help me to identify the part an what it's for. An what should i do?

that's the evaporative (EVAP) or charcoal canister. it stores fuel vapors from the gas tank while the car is not running. your check engine light is on now because losing the canister is causing an EVAP emissions leak.
