Power Seat Stuck, Motor Works
The power seat in my 2006 Mustang is stuck all the way in the up position. It works just fine moving forward and backward, but the up and down seems to be stuck. When I press the buttons in either direction, the motor itself is still functioning, but it just won't move. Is there any way to manually lower the seat without removing it? I'm hoping I can just lower it a little bit and the motor catches.

I know in my '05 the lumbar support motor gave up. Turned out the gears were a "plastic" of course. Had to have it removed and replaced. Sadly, you may be having the same issue.

That's pretty much what I'm trying to avoid. If I could lower it all the way down, I'd be set. No need to raise it back up. I'm 6'1" and driving with my knees in my chest is pretty uncomfortable.

Plastic gear is the culprit...
You still have to take the seat out of the car to disconnect the mechanism and lower it.
Is your passenger seat power as well?
If so, you could swap motors...
