yes it does, the housings and mounts have changed over the years but since the intro of the 79' foxbody, all internals are pretty much the same, from the 7.5 to the 8.8 which are not interchangeable. i could be completely wrong on this of course but pretty sure all the GT cars have same rear diff as of late. good luck

All Mustangs 2011-14 model year have the 8.8. The 2005-10 GT's have the 8.8 and the V6 had the 7.5.
Earlier years some had 7.5 and some 8.8 - I don't know for sure how it breaks down on the pre-S197 platform.
Of course with the IRS in the 2015+ the rear end is different and the gears from earlier models don't fit I understand..

Update!!!!
The whomp whomp whomp, whoop whoop whoop, or helicopter noise is gone!
Noise in rear axle fixed by new axle shafts and axle bearings. ~3hrs work, would be 1.5 but getting abs rings off is a pain in the ***
