Ok so I decided to take my car to the shop. I'm sooooo lucky I did. I bought the car from a very nice guy and from the outside and under the hood the car looked terrific. When I brought it home and spent some time with it is when I noticed the mirrors not working and the fan not working properly on the car (as I stated previously). When I drove it home I felt like the front end was a little shakey.

So I took it to a local shop to find out that the guy I purchased the car from had no idea the car needed work. So here is what it needed:

- New fuse for the mirrors
- Sway bar links both left and right were shot
- Right and left outter tie rod ends were shot
- Blower Resistor needed replacement (so that the fan worked on all 4 settings)
- New Pinion seal

With a hefty $1500 price tag for all the work, I decided for the first time to try and do the work myself. Youtube is awesome! I replaced the Sway bar links as well as the outter tie rod ends myself. I also replaced the blower resistor (what a pain in the a** as I'm 6'2, 240lbs trying to fit under the passenger side glove box upside down to repair it).

There is still a sound coming from the front left when hitting small bumps like something is loose. Not sure what else it could be. Any thoughts?

I thought about doing the pinion seal myself but thought that maybe replacing the drive shaft at the same time would be a good idea to a 1 piece? Has anyone tried that on their own with good success?

Likely front upper strut mounts. I had the same issue on my 06. Base number for these mounts is 18183 which have had a few updates. I think mine were number 2 or 3. Fixed my popping noise. Some people use GT500 upper mount assembly which work. Common problem on early s197s. I missed replacement under warranty so had to do them myself. If you do a search there is a lot of information regarding the mounts.

Found out it was the strut itself on the driver side. Was in really bad shape.

That's good. Nice to resolve issues like this.
