under wot from the 1-2 shift, I am locked out. I have to wait to drop to 4k to even get it in 2nd. I have 117000 miles. I changed the trans fluid at about 60k with the slightly less amount suggestion from tremec.

I am not familiar with throw out bearings or slave ylinders or what not. do you think a fluid change would help me?

I doubt fluid change will make a difference. It could be any number of things, clutch, TOB, transmission, something loose that needs tightening.

I don't think just doing some maintenance will fix that unfortunately.

What clutch is in the car and what mods do you have?

Why less and what's 'slightly' less mean? Maybe there's not enough gear oil to go around at high RPM so your synchros aren't lubed up enough to let you shift at high RPM.

sounds like a 2nd gear synco issue, the previous "new edge" body style t3650 trans had many issues regarding syncros, they had updates to repair the issues. it sound like in your case that you may have to pull apart , inspect, and replace parts. fluid level could be an issue as well, try filling it to the factory specified level. "if it aint broken, dont fix it" comes to mind
