Question Transmission leak help me out!

Hey everyone new to the forums, I have a 05 mustang gt and noticed it had oil on the tail of the transmission and took it to the dealer and they said it was leaking and was a qt low, how hard is it to replace the seals myself and how long would it take. Oh it is a 5 speed tranny. Any help would be great.

I have an '05 GT 5-Speed also. They take ATF fluid. I use synthetic and change every 30k. How do they know it is a "quart low?" They don't have a dipstick, and it fills from the passenger side on the side of it, about halfway.

Valvoline sells an ATF fluid with "stop leak" in it. Maybe worth a shot before going to a lot of work, or a chunk of change? FWIW

I have the Haynes Repair Manual for Mustangs '05 to '10. It looks like on page 7A-1 that they say you can fix your problem without removing the trans from the car. Doesn't look too hard, but, it talks of "special tools" to lock something up. Maybe your parts people have it?

hey thanks for the posts, I was going to do it myself but i'm going on a trip this week end so I need it done now, all seals new clutch the works. It really needs it, it has 106k on it all original stuff on it. I am going to get a tuner for it soon, not sure which one to get, the SCT X4 or a Bama. Any help on that would be great, never used one so one for a new guy at it.
